ABOUT...

Maria, Michaeline, and Kateri have been singing together ever since they can remember.  At the ages of eight, seven, and five they began by recording the Sound of Music on cassette tapes, making attempts to furnish their own harmonies.  After the start of piano lessons that year, folk songs, musicals, and hymns filled the house and backyard, to the enjoyment of the neighbors.  Then together with the rest of the family they began to perform at nursing homes bringing happiness to the residents.  A few years later their first opportunity to publicly glorify God through sacred music presented itself. They were invited to lead music for a monthly children’s Holy Hour, a venture which they undertook for several years.

It was their parish in Minnesota, St. Charles Borromeo, that planted in them the first seeds of appreciation for traditional sacred music.  These seeds took deeper root after the family’s move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 2012, when the girls found themselves falling passionately in love with polyphony and Gregorian chant.  New friends at the Holy Hill Basilica generously welcomed them to participate in the music ministry.  After recording for a Schoenstatt Girls’ Youth album and the short film series Anima, the three sisters dreamed again of making a recording of their own, this time professionally, before separating to follow their particular life callings.  With the generous support of family and friends, they recorded their first album “Jesu and Maria”.

The Andress Sisters wish to bring joy to many people through sharing God's vocal gifts.  They hope these songs will inspire a true love for traditional sacred music, that beautiful language exclusive to worshiping God that raises our minds and hearts to Him!

Maria recently graduated with a film and acting degree and is currently pursuing a film career in San Diego, California.  She contributed to music ministry while on campus and continues to sing on a daily basis.

Michaeline has entered the Carmelite Order, answering the call of Christ to become His bride and to offer her life for souls.

Kateri continues to cantor and play the organ.  She is currently pursuing a degree in music at Ave Maria, Florida.

“May it come about that the Christian people begin even on this earth to sing that song of praise it will sing forever in Heaven: ‘To Him Who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb, blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.’ ”      – Pope Pius 12th, Encyclical Musica Sacrae, 68.
